Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate for this position is technically competent, organized and enjoys the challenge that comes with coordinating complex problem solving in an efficient manner.
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining PC & PLC software and documentation to control the full EuroSort product line of automated machinery.
Responsibilities include working with multiple departments and team members to meet technical and schedule objectives.
The Software Engineer will also work with the sales department in the pre-sales stage to help design the best solutions for a customer's unique need.
A successful Software Engineer will:
Work independently, as well as with others to design and implement custom softwareProvide timely technical responses, concepts, and solutions to SalesAct as our internal consultant and subject matter expertEnsure specifications are clear and achievable at the start of a project and that they are recognized duringthe performance of the projectTake ownership of technical aspects of projectsInterface with customer's technical counterpart to ensure expectations are alignedCommunicate and validate project requirements and deliveries with suppliers including integration testingand deployment recommendationsInitiate cost and efficiency improvements on project designs where possibleUpdate documentation for field changes and make sure documentation is adequate to handover project tocustomer and service departmentAssist with production, installation, and service through technical advisory supportAssist with internal IT needs and office automationAnswer support phone line during and after standard work hoursRespond to on-site customer service calls (during day and off business hours)
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent with 3
years of working directly with automated machinery,distribution warehousing, or logistics industry in either a development or production environment requiredA demonstrated knowledge of best practices for software development conventions and documentationSoftware development experience across multiple programming languages, and preferably in multipleplatforms and development environmentsExperience with Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, VB.
NET, Microsoft SQL Server, C#, programming PLCs,and communication protocols over TCP/IP and FTP file exchange preferredInterest, experience or education relating to embedded PCs running Windows, Linux and BSD preferredInterest or experience in developing a robotic induction interface for sorters preferredKnowledge of vision inspection, automated barcode reading, dimensioning and machine learning preferredTeam player - able to work with all departments among EuroSort, suppliers, and with customersMust be willing to travel up to 50%Personal characteristics:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
