PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
While this opportunity is being advertised as a US Remote office location, we are seeking talent for multiple locations: New York / New Jersey Metro area, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Missouri.
The Regional Investment Consultant will promote the distribution of T. Rowe Price investment management and related mutual funds through broker/dealer financial advisors in national full service, regional and independent broker/dealer firms, and their respective advisory teams and sales organizations.
Primary responsibilities are to provide relationship management, investment-related reviews and sales ideas, positioning of investment strategies and thematic investment content directly to targeted financial advisors and their appropriate team personnel primarily via external face-to-face meetings, as well as internal meetings, broker/dealer and industry events to increase product share and build TRP awareness.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactive Sales and Investment Support - Provide compelling investment reviews and presentations to varying audiences consisting of: broker/dealer financial advisors and their respective support staff, and some home office employed field sales and distribution contacts. Audience size may vary from one-on-one interactions to group settings of advisors, investment analysts or sales professionals, involving investment education, product/asset class positioning, or other advisor education materials. Position provides these services to the U.S. Investment Service's Financial Advisor Segment's targeted firms and contacts. Travels independently in most situations, and must document all client interactions in CRM system.
Relationship Management - maximize relationships with targeted broker/dealer financial advisors assigned and key field distribution gatekeepers. Support client contacts with investment-related content, sales ideas and materials to optimize TRP value to Financial Advisors and their end retail or institutional clients. Travel independently to well established financial advisor offices to promote TRP offerings and support home office initiatives and Financial Advisor Segment objectives. Maintain all contact information in CRM system, utilizing intelligible notes to communicate client trends. For sales support and relationship management, Regional Investment Consultant independently constructs travel schedule to meet broad channel and team requirements and various client objectives. Incumbents typically spend 2-3 nights per week on the road, periodically entertaining clients.
Provide Financial Advisor Segment Marketing and Investment Products Group with concrete ideas for creation of materials and campaigns to better align with our client's themes, focus and needs. Provides input to National Account Managers, Account Coordinators, Financial Advisor Sales Development and Service Team and National Sales Manager in order to maximize impact to the overall TRP client relationship. Provide input to formulate and refine client service requirements and overall budgets, as a direct result of intelligence gained from key contacts at our respective client firms.
Advanced understanding of the TRP investment strategies and investment vehicles used by client firms, with the ability to consistently increase and enhance one's knowledge base of these and other products. Understanding of targeted client firms' organizational structure, product platforms, and current events which may be utilized to enhance our client service offer.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred
External sales or client management experience in industry (have hired several experienced associates from outside TRP with several years of wholesaling or asset management at major fund firms)
Working knowledge of Broker/Dealer firms and Advisor product platforms
CFA, CFP, CIMA or MBA preferred
Required
High level and aptitude for investment acumen and content
Bachelor's degree and 5 years related work experience
7-10 years or more of experience within the financial services industry
Thorough knowledge of advisory and investment subjects
Series 7 and Series 63 licensed
Advanced sales, service, and relationship management skills
Advanced Territory Management Skills
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills
Self-directed and ability to travel extensively
Thorough knowledge of the investment process and TRP products

Prior experience with financial intermediary, RIA and/or broker/dealer sales exposure
