The 529 associate uses a consultative approach in order to provide comprehensive service excellence to customers with a focus on their College Savings accounts. Provides in-depth information regarding governing policies, probes for additional investment needs, and transfers opportunities to the right resources within T. Rowe Price. The 529 associate builds and maintains relationships with 529 Account Holders, Advisors and John Hancock Freedom 529 Sales Desk Specialists in guiding them to make decisions in order to meet their financial goals. They are responsible for managing their time against volumes to ensure appropriate coverage to maintain contractual service levels each month within the 529 queues.
Provides guidance to inbound callers including, but not limited to, products/services and features, balance inquiries, account registration requirements and solutions to client issues. Answers in depth service questions and ensures each client receives service excellence primarily on their 529 accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
Uses consultative approach to identify new services that may be appropriate for the client. By discussing new or additional services relevant to the client, the 529 associate may act on opportunities to create value and present mutually beneficial solutions to the client.
Processes client requests such as account maintenance, correspondence, research and trades requested. Ensures accounts are updated, corrected, and accurately maintained per the client's instructions. Will continue to keep retail skills alive and back up retail associate queues as volumes warrant while providing the same high level of customer service.
Manages time well and demonstrates flexibility when leveraged to assist with other business areas or internal projects. Understands the relationship with the 529 plan sponsors and Advisors and identifies opportunities to create efficiencies and mitigate risks.
High school diploma/equivalent and 1 year related work experience, or Associate degree, or College degree
Demonstration of the Consultative Client Interaction model
Strong understanding of mutual funds, especially TRP mutual funds and 529 Portfolios
Strong customer care skills and focus
Effective demonstration of following competencies: Customer Care, People Savvy, Confident & Controlled, Drive for Results, Scanning for Information and Communicating & Collaborating.
Computer skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
