Examples of Duties Under general supervision, performs professional administrative and managerial duties related to the outreach to unsheltered persons.
This position will function as the dedicated County staff member responsible for coordination between all stakeholders to manage and execute timely responses to unsheltered individuals.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Ensures that responses to those living unsheltered in the County remains coordinated, proactive and responsive to community needs.
Coordinates or participates in transportation of clients to shelter or to emergency appointments via the use of a Baltimore County vehicle.
This includes transporting persons to shelter or other community services in a more expeditious manner, when opportunities to remove unsheltered individuals from an unstable environment often appear spontaneously.
Coordinates the response to reports of issues related to encampments and manages the response activities with other agencies.
Promotes programs and resources for unsheltered persons and coordinates a variety of services to encourage unsheltered individuals to participate in programs that enable them to remain housed and stable.
Identifies local resources and stakeholders critical to the success in homeless programs.
Reviews the reports from service providers regarding unsheltered persons as they participate in programs.
May monitor the statistical information reported by providers via the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
Prepares reports, as required.
Maintains files and other records.
Enters required information into the HMIS System.
May conduct awareness presentations to local government, community groups or other interested groups in the region.

Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or a related field plus Two years' professional experience in working with unsheltered persons.
Education in a related field beyond a bachelor's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Experience of three years or more may be substituted for the education requirement.
Bilingual persons are strongly encouraged to apply.
